Positively Wonderful

There are some wonderful things going on in my life right now. I am surrounded by so many great and caring people that it is only natural that new and exciting things are going on.

First, my immediate family is doing really well. The kids are busy with school and activities. Football, dance and girl scouts are in full swing and we are busy seven days a week. Chuckie's team is doing really well and as of right now, they are in contention for the playoffs! He likes football and has learned a lot. Jada is doing dance again this year, she is now taking hip hop class in addition to her ballet class. She looooves hip hop. She thinks it is fun and wishes dance was more than just one day a week. Girl scouts starts this week. It should be a fun year for her since one of her best friends has joined her troop. Lincoln is just busy as ever. He keeps me on my toes and pulling my hair out! He loves to screech and cry over just about everything. He loves to climb and get into all the things he is not supposed to. He has grown taller in the last few weeks so we notice that there is a whole new level that he can reach. This is not good news for us, as this means more for us to make sure he doesn't get! Chuck has done so well at work this year. He got his annual raise, taking him to wages that we didn't think he'd ever get to. He works so hard on a daily basis that I worry about how it will toll on his body as he ages. The line of work does keep him in great shape though! He hates his job at least twice a week but he is so good at what he does. Those roads are beautiful!!!

One major thing that really warms my heart is the fact that my mom passed the United States Citizenship test. This coming Wednesday, she will be sworn in as a U.S. citizen. It has been 32 years since she has been in this country so she has waited a long time for this. She did so well at her interview that it only took her about 20 minutes to answer the questions and the interview questions. I am so extremely proud of her and all her accomplishments. I don't know if I will be able to go watch the swearing in ceremony but I will definitely be thinking of her as it happens. I really want to do something special for her though so if I don't go, I want to decorate her house so that when she comes home she knows that we are so very proud of her.

My sister-in-law, Krysta is pregnant. She is 17 weeks along with her first baby. They don't yet know what gender the baby is but they will hopefully be finding out at their sonogram coming up. It is exciting when anyone is pregnant. I love the feeling of excitement and wonder that every pregnant girl feels. I look forward to shopping for this baby too! Nothing beats shopping for those tiny baby items, the socks, the bibs, sleepers, blankets, etc. All of it is just wonderful.

This coming weekend, Chuck and I are going to a wedding. We live north of Pittsburgh, PA and the wedding is close to Morgantown WV. That means close to a 2 hour drive for us. This also means that we are going to stay at a hotel instead of driving home after the reception where drinks will be consumed. That means that we are going to be alone overnight! I am excited just for the break. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and they are my world, I live and breathe for them. That's the problem....I need to live and breathe for myself every once in awhile! I look forward to having my husband to myself for a little while. It is rare anymore that we spend any time to ourselves. I look forward to the time on the way to the wedding, in the car...in the quiet where we can talk and not have a kid interrupting us! I am hoping the weather is nice though because the wedding is outdoors and bad weather could be awful!

The election. Yes, the election is coming up which is wonderful because that means that soon, we won't have to constantly be seeing those commercials of the candidates smear campaign ads. I am pretty tired of listening to the back and forth attacks. I know that it is all par for the course but good God, I am tired of it. Maybe I wasn't into it all as much as I am now but I don't remember all the elementary level bickering and name calling going on in past elections. It all reminds me of my kids fighting and name calling. Can we act like grown ups please?!

Life is good. Life is busy, but good.
